SPEECH ACT PRESENTATION IN A LOCALLY-WRITTEN ENGLISH TEXTBOOK

<p><em>A textbook is developed to provide language input for learners. The should contain appropriate use assist learners be able communicate effectively from the communicative competence perspective which focuses on pragmatics. For this reason, present study attempts investigate speech act presentation in a local English metapragmatic, sociopragmatic, and pragmalinguistics point of view. data were taken common phrases or expressions particular functions integrated with conversations textbook. Findings revealed that acts investigated presented more discrete items lacking sociopragmatic pragmalinguistic information. Concerning metapragmatic information, there seems significant correlation between aspects. Pedagogically, it implies exposed through may not serve as was supposed therefore, did adequate pragmatic knowledge cause fewer opportunities reach competence. </em></p><p> <strong></strong></p>
